Sometime between the Tuckermans and the Carters, the house was occupied by Leonard E. Opdycke, a retired financier and historian, son of a Civil War general. Opdycke's daughter, mary (Mrs. John DeWitt Peltz), was a former Junior League president, and longtime editor of Opera News. The Down East Dilettantehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13950254669198151850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7502312000087595701.post-78462802147550307042011-08-08T04:45:59.683-07:002011-08-08T04:45:59.683-07:00You're not only right, but quite astute! Curious if she had anything to do with the interiors (my perspective on her age and this house is a bit off) as she did with the second Tuckerman home in Tuxedo Park.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
