There was never much activity on CPW except for one night on July 21, 1967 when there was a commotion at the Langham. I went across the street to see what had happened just as a body was being removed from the building through the front door.l. I asked the doorman abut it and he said that was Basil Rathbone. I always admired his work and didn't even know he lived there. I loved the Westside as it was mostly for unconventional people who were notable but not looking to be recognized and ogled. NYC was stylish and glamorous back then with a style of living somewhere in the city for almost everyone.
