Gleason - Risteard@verizon.net I was baptized at St. Gregory the Great Church in 1938 went then through eight years of grammar school there, graduating in 1951 and was I married there in 1960. During that time, the good sisters of the Presentation Order had posted every graduation photograph since 1912 on the walls of the second floor public hall. Along came your Fr. Browne and as pastor removed each and every graduation photograph from their honored place and disposed of them in the trash. Sometime in the nineteen eighties we did a diligent search for the photos throughout the entire building with the help and support of the pastor at the time and were unable to locate the photos. Your Fr. Browne by destroying the graduation photos did a great disservice to all of us and erased the history of the parish in one gesture of disrespect to all who every call St Gregory the Great their parish. In conclusion, I might add, Browne was a poor example of a Catholic priest and had the audacity to raise a family within the parish bounds.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7502312000087595701.post-76967684773523324602021-08-01T03:03:58.229-07:002021-08-01T03:03:58.229-07:00A beautiful parish. I was also an Alter Boy served several masses with Browne. He very nice. He had a dynamic personality and presence about him. One would know when he was in the room. As I read this article, I remembered as a child that there was a time when a lot was going on involving him. I saw it as his involvement in the community. Since Stryker Bay was up the block on the corner of where I lived. Here now all theses years later I learn the anazing history of St. Gregory the Great and Fr. Browne was a pretty awesome. Thanks for the article. Ray P~RicanRAP~https://www.blogger.com/profile/03442671996566763545noreply@blogger.com
