I would add that the office ...Yes, great article. I would add that the office portion was subsequently converted into rentals resulting in the total of 767 apartments noted above. The building is now almost entirely residential, save for the ground level banking halls which are refuently used for film and TV shoots. Another incredible feature is that the amazing stone sculptures decorating the midpoint of the tower invoke the "Gotham City" of Batman fame. It is no accident that the Fox series "Gotham" has filmed at 20 Exchange many times. This building is one of FiDi's architectural gems. Thank you again for spotlighting it. ! Also, thank you for finally focussing on the treasures of the Financial District. I look forward to many more as the area is an architectural and history treasure trove of important sites. I have a Facebook page devoted to all of the great things about and happening in the Financial District called FiDi Fan Page. Feel free to join. As such, I am responsible for our Facebook @twentyexchange and Instagram @twenty.exchange pages. I regularly include as much historical material and pictures as I can. It is rare that I come across an article that tells me so much information I did not know about a building I know pretty well.

Thank you so much for this!Robert Beachamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15637034881318018287noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7502312000087595701.post-64701166913800699672018-01-04T15:12:26.143-08:002018-01-04T15:12:26.143-08:00Its construction (or at least the sign announcing ...Its construction (or at least the sign announcing its space for rent) inspired a painting by Bernard Boutet de Monvel.
