For the past couple years, I've been hunting down NYC's surprisingly extensive Art Nouveau heritage, and am regularly delighted to see a building I've spotted show up on your blog. Sometimes I've been able to take a building off my "to be verified" list once it pops up on your blog with era-confirming dates and useful information for subsequent searches (the Yorkville Theater, for example). The Jones Speedometer Building is probably the most tragic example I've run across, you found some images I had not seen before. I had hypothesized from the Real Estate Record image that Lowinson was heavily influenced by D'Aronco's Turin Exposition, and one quote you include suggests that Lowinson had actually attended it. Thanks for your continuing work!Bryan Kohlnoreply@blogger.com
