It has been restored outside very nicely but of course, it is now privately owned. Still the legacy of Capt. Joseph Rose and his son, Isaac who had his pharmacy on the bottom floor should be recognized in the good times of the Seaport. It seems sad more was written about Kit. Kit is buried in Green-wood Cemetery in Brooklyn for any who would like to know. The Capt and his wife, Barbara are at Trinity Church. Isacc and his wife, Maria are there also but I could not find their stones. joyce46https://www.blogger.com/profile/09474352750096090745noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7502312000087595701.post-41868218108005222882018-08-03T12:37:02.893-07:002018-08-03T12:37:02.893-07:00Interesting. He was 25 at the time, and recently married to Rachel Conklin (ancestor.) Later he worked as a "shipping master," whatever that was, nearby on Front St. --AliciaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7502312000087595701.post-47144904460486271032017-09-06T14:18:53.788-07:002017-09-06T14:18:53.788-07:00As a descendant of Capt. His son, Isaac was the Apothecary or Pharmacist as we call them today and occupied the bottom floor. He is the son that Joseph left the house to. Thank you for restoring it. I recently went to NYC to see it. The Seaport is being revitalized and that is wonderful.
