That was founded and owned by my grandfather, and later, my father. It moved around the corner in the early 1980's (and its sign is visible in one scene in the Martin Scorsese movie "After Hours".) During part of the time that my father owned the store, Steve Reich, the famous minimalist composer, rented the 3rd floor.
