Robert Rotner architect and Michael Uzzi architect contractor did a gut renovation on this house
back in the mid 1990's.
The rear facade was ripped down and new balconies added. They also added an elevator and penthouse.
Please contact Robert Rotner or Michael Uzzi at 212-949-0011 if you have questions regarding this house and renovation.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18021642653824077104noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7502312000087595701.post-86855333183429262502015-01-19T06:57:48.460-08:002015-01-19T06:57:48.460-08:00Amazing that the elegant interiors have survived. ...Amazing that the elegant interiors have survived. They will probably end up in an architectural salvage yard and landfill. Replaced by yet another black and white "designer make over".

We need more Elsie De Wolfe's in this world.

If the new owners trash this treasure, I hope the ghost of Elisabeth Marbury haunts the place. It was evidently successful enough that De Wolfe repeated it basically verbatim in a "spec" house she remodel led on 71st Street between Park and Lexington. I seem to recall that Ogden Codman was her architect on both projects.Magnuspetriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12625586892328226122noreply@blogger.com
